Regulatory Report

5301 McAuley Drive, Ypsilanti, 48197 Michigan, United States

Employees in pathology work less than 6 feet from each other. An employee was ill in October and said illness was brought to the attention of the pathology manager who dismissed the concerns and said it was allergies. She said if an employee was too ill to work SHE would be the one to address it. At that time, none of the employees in close proximity were made to wear masks. 2 weeks after employee came to work ill, coworkers were told they were exposed to COVID by said ill employee. Employees in close proximity, less than 6 feet, were told later, after the fact, they were exposed. Employees in close proximity were NOT told to quarantine. The manager never sent employees home to quarantine. Employees were given 2 sets of conflicting instructions. Hospital COVID workers told employees to quarantine. However, the hospital hotline workers told employees that was hearsay and told employees not to quarantine. Said infected employee came back to work after recovering, refusing to wear mask properly, with bottom ties tucked into collar untied.
