Possible tested for Covid-19, Pocatello, Idaho, USA

Pocatello, Idaho, United States

Just got tested for COVID-19 in Pocatello, Idaho. My symptoms: dry cough, chest congestion and shortness of breath that keeps me awake and wheezing at night. I have been to hotspots in the last 2 weeks, Sun Valley & Boise. I also live with my 83 year old grandmother. Although I have all those symptoms and recent travel to hotspots, the doctor told me I still didn’t qualify for the CDC criteria because I didn’t have a fever. He said it frustrates him that he has had to tell so many people he can’t test them. So he asked again if I have had ANY signs of fever. I told him I don’t have a thermometer and probably have had one recently. He then said he would give me a respiratory panel test. Meaning, he is testing me for multiple respiratory ailments in order, COVID-19 being the last. If any of the boxes before COVID-19 are ticked as positive, my sample will not be tested for COVID-19. I will be notified of results in 5-10 days. Buckle up, the numbers we’re currently given do not paint the full picture. not trying to create hysteria, just sharing my experience
