Regulatory Report
225 East Jackson Boulevard, Elkhart, 46516 Indiana, United States
There is no ventilation in the building. There is no way for fresh air to come in. There is not adequate air flow. One side of the building has no heat, one side of the building that has no air. It is a small building. Everyone works on the first floor. There is no opportunity to social distance due to lack of space. Employees are not practicing social distancing to the best of their ability. They have had at one point about 50 percent of the staff contract COVID-19. Staff members have gone to be tested for COVID-19 and did not quarantine, they came back to work, that caused it to spread. They are on their second wave of COVID-19 from May until now. In May they were getting emails almost daily about staff contracting the virus. They did not shut the office down. Staff were told they were essential workers and that they had to be there. Employees were not provided PPE and masks were not worn by employers or mandated to be worn. They were not providing hand sanitizer. When they were closed to the public, they had a drop box in the front office and the staff had to go and immediately get the paperwork out of the box and touch the paperwork and sort it. Management was telling employees that the paperwork could not sit that it had to be sorted through immediately. There was a time in March and April where they did not have hot water in the building, so hand washing was done with cold water. They did not always have soap and did not have antibacterial soap. The latest number is three employee confirmed cases at this moment. They are now allowing clients in the building. Once the clients enter the building, they take their mask off or wear the mask improperly and nothing is said. Employee mask wearing was optional up until June. Employees do not wear their masks properly. They are doing the bare minimum to protect employees. They do not provide the employees with any type of drinking water. The water coming from the sinks smells strongly of bleach.Source: Osha.gov | Receipt Date: 2020-07-16
