Safety Report: Covid-19 OSHA Complaint, Java House Coffee Bar, 14390 Clay Terrace Blvd #160, CARMEL, IN, 46032, USA

3 years ago business

Regulatory Report

14390 Clay Terrace Boulevard, Carmel, 46032 Indiana, United States

Social distancing is not enforced nor is it addressed in the company's Covid-19 Response Plan as mandated by Executive Order 20-50, Section 4a (iv). There are large communal tables that customers from different parties share and do not wear masks at, and there is no enforcement of social distancing in the store, as required by Section 6a (ii). Our store also does not have signage requiring customers to wear masks or face coverings as mandated by Executive Order 20-50, Section 4b (i). The business has put up a sign that reads "Wear Masks, Drink Coffee, Stay Well", however there is no clear signage that customers are required to wear masks upon entering the store. As a result, many customers continue to enter without masks on or do not wear them to cover their mouths and noses. In their COVID-19 Response Plan, there is a clear section stating that employees are also not allowed to ask customers to wear a mask if they enter without one, and there is no social distancing possible between employees and customers at the Point of Sale, as well as no additional preventative measures like Plexiglass, as recommended by Section 4a (iv) of Executive Order 20-50. As a result, employees are exposed to imminent danger, COVID-19, which could be spread to coworkers, customers, and families.
