1. Entire Facility. The employer is not following CDC guidelines for the prevention of the transmission of the COVID-19 virus in the workplace in that: a. Supervisors are encouraging employees who have been exposed to COVID-19 to return to work before being tested. b. The employer has failed to notify employees when they have come in close contact with an infected person. Applicable OSHA Standards: 29 CFR 1910.132 and Section 5(a)(1) of the OSH Act 2. Unit B (Receiving) and Unit C (Operations.) The shared hallway connecting the units is being used for storage of product. This causes blocked access to exit doors and portable fire extinguishers. Applicable OSHA Standards: 29 CFR 1910.36 and 1910.157 3. Unit E (Build Shop). Employees transfer chemicals from large labeled containers to smaller ones. The smaller containers are not labeled as to their contents. Applicable OSHA Standard: 29 CFR 1910.1200 4. Unit E (Build Shop). Gloves worn for protection against chemicals are not adequate, as the chemicals eat through the glove material. Applicable OSHA Standards: 29 CFR 1910.132 and 1910.138 5. Unit E (Build Shop). Employees who use saws and grinders are not provided with adequate eye protection in that there are not enough safety glasses/goggles available and none are available that fit over prescription eyeglasses. Applicable OSHA Standards: 29 CFR 1910.132 and 1910.133
