Employees are expected to work in the building for 8.5 hours despite the workload decreasing due to reduced lab staff and research. Pre-Covid work would take around 7 hours but now, work only lasts about 3-6 hours. Around 15 employees have to wait out the rest of the shift before they can clock out. There is limited seating in the building lobby and breakroom due to mandatory room densities so employees often are immediately next to lab members and staff who have to do their work. Once employees are done with work, they should be allowed to leave to limit the danger of Covid-19 exposure. At the beginning of the pandemic employees were allowed half days and to work from home the rest of the day.
