Three violations of the State of Indiana Executive order 20-50. Violation 1; Section 4 a, subsection iv of exec. order 20-50: Wherein "complying with social distancing requirements established by the CDC, including maintaining six-foot social distancing for both employees and members of the general public." The employer of Java House has neglected to take action or make a statement on the existence of allowed bar seating less than 3ft where open beverages are prepared to be served to the general public and employees are within less than a 6ft radius of sometimes unmasked individuals drinking/ eating at the bar. Multiple employees have raised concerns with the owner via verbal and written complaints including citing exec. order 20-50 as well as an ignored request of barriers to protect employees. Violation 2; Section 4 b, subsection i of exec. order 20-50: Wherein "All Hoosier businesses are required to place clearly visible signage at their public and employee entrances notifying that face coverings are required for all individuals entering the business." There is no posted signage notifying customers or employees of the state mask requirement on the Java House premises. Violation 3; Section 4 b, subsection iii of exec. order 20-50: Wherein "Businesses should only admit those customers, clients, vendors, and other visitors who wear face coverings." The employer has stated that Java House does not comply with the Indiana state mask mandate on the grounds that it negatively impacts "customer experience."
