Regulatory Report

12607 Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard, Vancouver, 98684 Washington, United States

On March 31, 2020 a masking guideline policy was released that stated one can use a non-KP issued mask. Yesterday, it was told to me by management that we are no longer allowed to use PPE that is non Kaiser dispensed. I have been given a donation of N95 masks that I have been using as I am a medical provider who is working directly in our urgent care COVID rule out location. The current CDC guidelines support the use of N95s for this subset of patients. I am at the highest risk of contracting this virus compared to my colleagues who are not seeing respiratory patients. The mask I am being dispensed is a paper mask that has a recommended use of 4 hours a day. I have only been dispensed one mask a day, for a 10 hour shift. I have discussed my concerns with management and have been warned I can be at fault for a disciplinary action for continuing to wear my own N95 mask. Furthermore this organization has a supply that is locked up and not being dispensed appropriately. I simply in good faith do not feel safe in this role for this organization. This is not current PPE useage in the entire area when evaluating this particular subset of patient presentations. Hazard location: Urgent Care Module Additional referral received on 04/29/2020: They are not providing to the employees with N-95 masks, they are only providing surgical masks. They are not providing face-shields and no goggles. They are treating patients that are tested COVID-19 positive. Not even the doctors have PPE except for surgical masks. The back door to the building its locked at all times, there is only one door for ingress and egress and that's the front door. Some of the personnel are getting sick with COVID-19. There are approximately 40 employees in the facility.
