Safety Report: Covid-19 OSHA Complaint, Avon Community School Corporation, 7203 E US Highway 36, AVON, IN, 46123, USA

Regulatory Report

7203 East US Highway 36, Avon, 46123 Indiana, United States

The COVID-19 response has been tampered with repeatedly in light of constant positive cases. More and more staff have fallen ill and they are coming up short daily with the numbers needed to maintain a non-hazardous work environment. Exposure risks are minimized in order to maintain efficiency, but the subs are coming into contaminated rooms the same day as when a teacher has had to leave. Students who have been exposed to their teachers continue to come to school. Hendricks Regional Health has been very shady with a lack of transparency regarding the cases across the district. When questioned, there hasn't been a single response to the negative aspects coworkers are presenting to the administration, and even if there's a response, it's very apathetic. There is a shortage of custodians which resulted in staff being asked to take on additional responsibilities with cleaning as well. Where other districts seem to be preparing to address the worst case scenario with the pandemic, ACSC has been actively ignoring any cooperative measures to reduce exposure. There is fear that someone will have to get critically ill for any proactive solution to be made or worse. The negligence from higher ups have created a fearful response to ask for guidance when there seems to be little light.
