Regulatory Report

4247 Eastern Avenue Southeast, Wyoming, 49508 Michigan, United States

The employer fails to provide a safe and sanitary environment for employees as follows: 1. The employee bathrooms are horribly unsanitary (especially the downstairs bathrooms). The trash bin is overflowing. The sanitary napkin disposal is overflowing to the point where the discarded contents can touch an employee's arms while using the toilet. Used face masks and gloves are on the floor, nasty paper towels are on the sink, nasty stuff is in the sink, disinfectant is not available for employees in the bathrooms, and tissue and trash is all over the bathroom. The upstairs bathroom has used gloves and trash on the lunch tables, there are no paper towels in the bathroom to wipe one's hands, and there are used face masks and gloves on the upstairs bathroom floor. Many employees have complained, and the production manager (as well as some supervisors) was aware, but nothing was done to initiate making it sanitary. 2. After employees returned from the COVID-19 layoff, the employer had many employees (including human resources) at tables to assure that employees exposed to COVID-19 or those showing symptoms of infection did not enter the building. Now there's only one station where they check temperature and give a mask. The second station is empty; the station where exposed employees were prevented from entering. Now there's only the paperwork for employees to complete with nobody monitoring; thus failing to prevent other employees from getting exposed to the virus.
