Regulatory Report
8300 Lane Drive, Watervliet, 49098 Michigan, United States
1. An employee who worked in the packing department of the main warehouse was diagnosed with COVID-19. Employees were not informed until a week after the employee had went home sick. An associate who was not displaying symptoms but was in close contact with the sick employee was instructed to come into work. Temps are taken upon entrance but associates do not know if the employee left with a temperature that day. 2. There is zero social distancing in either the pick module or the pack mezzanine. 3. Employees are not required to wear a mask and the individual who was sick packed parts all day long; a pack station where the next employee is less than 1 foot away and parts that went into boxes to ship all across the country. According to the CDC guidelines, this area was supposed to be closed off immediately and deep cleaned which still has not happened. The person who was ill packed at various stations throughout the day as well as the week leading up to feeling ill. 4. A meeting was scheduled for nearly 30 people in a breakroom where it is impossible to social distance. Employees are concerned that everyone in the packing area has been exposed and now they are all reporting back to work for this meeting; employees could potentially be carriers of this virus and now expose their families. 5. Employees believe the warehouse department needs to be under quarantine at home for the allotted time to insure no one else who has been exposed. 6. The employer is not adhering to any of the guidelines set forth to protect employees from the further spread of COVID-19.Source: Osha.gov | Receipt Date: 2020-06-25
