The employer is failing to use airborne isolation infection precautions for a suspected COVID-19 case by downgrading the airborne precautions for a novel virus described in Appendix A to droplet precautions in the Labor/Delivery Department. T8 CCR 5199(e)(1)(A) 2. The employer failed to provide the necessary personal protective equipment to employees who are providing care to isolated patients diagnosed with COVID-19. The manager is keeping all N95 respirators, bleach and sanitizing wipes locked away in their office where employees cannot access them. T8 CCR 5199(e)(1) 3. The employer is failing to correct hazards of having employees use only one mask the whole shift while not being able to reuse masks and faces shields when exposed to COVID-19 patients and potentially exposing over patients and themselves.
