Safety Report: Covid-19 OSHA Complaint, Humane Society of Huron Valley, 3100 Cherry Hill Rd, ANN ARBOR, MI, 48105, USA

Regulatory Report

3100 Cherry Hill Road, Ann Arbor, 48105 Michigan, United States

1. The workplace is putting the health and safety of its staff, volunteers, and customers at risk to COVID-19 exposure. Upper management has recently decided to increase the number of people allowed into the building at any given time, while also removing the method of tracking how many people enter at once. Though they say the number of people allowed in follows the guidelines put forward by the county regarding square footage, only a small part of the building is accessible to the general public, and that area is divided into small rooms making it very hard to distance. The first day of the new policy saw people crowding in rooms and hallways much closer than six feet apart. Additionally the employer has started a new policy to deal with people who refuse to wear a mask when entering the facility. These people must be offered a special time to come in before the establishment opens to the public, but this still puts staff in danger. If those people still refuse to come another time, they must be allowed to walk through, putting the rest of the people in the building at risk. There are many children regularly in the building, as well and senior volunteers, who are at risk because of these new policies.
