An electrical service disruption was reported in part of Northampton County for a few hours early on New Year's Day after a mylar balloon was found entangled in power lines near Spring Garden Street in Easton. About 1,400 customers were affected by the outage that started at 2:10 a.m. Power was restored to Met-Ed customers at about 6 a.m.
